Defining God from a Scientific Perspective

"In the beginning, God created heaven (space) and earth (substance)." Or did he? That explanation came from an ancient human perspective, which is limited and flawed. At the time, humans had no choice but to explain an infinite concept that way. They couldn't see the limitless expanse of space or the limitless nature of atoms. If they knew those things, they would have realized that God didn't create the universe, God IS the universe. Let's look at the concept of God from an infinite perspective, or a scientific/logical perspective.

Defining God, Where did the Infinite Concept come from?

Infinity is an ancient philosophical and mathematical concept. Infinity was conceptualized when humans tried to define substance by measuring it. Can you infinitely split a rock or will it vanish at some point? Substances, like numbers, appear to go on forever, but they also have a starting point, which contradicts the nature of limitlessness. The concept still confuses great thinkers, but the logic behind it was good. As technology advanced and we discovered the infinite nature of atoms, we began to define the fabric of reality, and it appears to be infinite in every way. The infinite concept caused our ancient counterparts a lot of confusion, but they were on the right track. Bear with me, I'm about to use more Bible versus, but not to promote it. The Christian definition of God was actually logical, but the writers confused the hell out of everyone by proceeding to contradict everything about the definition later on. I'll talk about that some other time, for now, let's define the infinite concept.

According to the New International Version of the Bible, Acts 17:24-25, 27-28;

24 “The God who made the world... does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else..." "27 …though he is not far from any one of us. 28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said‘We are his offspring.’"

The writer of these verses had a basic understanding of what it means to be infinite. Infinity is perfection because it contains all things. It lacks nothing. An infinite being like God doesn't live in a temple or our house. God is the temple and the house. God is the entire universe,  and Humans are part of the universe. The universe gives us life and breath. Infinity is not far from us because we are literally inside of it. So, it is correct to say humans are the offspring of God since God is, by definition, the infinite universe.

Another Definition of God from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

"God : the supreme or ultimate reality [another way of saying infinite reality]: such as. : the Being perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped (as in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism) as creator and ruler of the universe..."

God is not some misogynistic bigot with a beard that sits on a throne on a cloud. By God's definition, it is an infinite being. When something is truly infinite, it's perfect. It lacks nothing, and it cannot be created or destroyed. Thus God is everything; the beginning, present, and end. God is nature. God is the infinite universe. It knows all, sees all, is everywhere all at once and lacks nothing. What other thing is everywhere all at once and can't be created or destroyed? Atoms. Atoms make up everything and have an infinite nature. According to the law of conservation of energy, matter cannot be created or destroyed. Hence, an atom cannot be created or destroyed. Atoms are a god-like substance. They have a will of their own and put themselves in order, they also make up the entire universe. Hello, God, I see you after all! Moving on.

A Closer Look at Infinity

Let's explore what it is to be infinite (perfect). Infinity is a hard concept for a tiny little human to comprehend. The infinite lacks nothing. It encompasses everything all at once, past, present, and future. The infinite is a completed picture of all things. The infinite also doesn't move or change. It's perfect, and perfection doesn't need to be changed, created, or ended. Humans have a hard time understanding this because we had a starting point. The concept of creation has distorted our view of reality since ancient days. Creation, or to have a beginning and an end, are things a limited being (a human) can understand because we experience them.

Humans are Finite and Opposite of God

We are limited beings and the opposite of infinite. Humans are not perfect. Our thoughts and bodies had a starting point in the womb of our mothers. So how does something finite experience the infinite? They're opposites. Just like light and darkness, infinite and finite can't exist together. Can they? They actually can. The finite can be a part of the infinite. Remember, infinite perfection doesn't move or change, yet the world appears to be moving around us. The key to opposites existing together is motion. As light moves through darkness, the motion allows them to exist together. Another way of looking at it is light and darkness are part of a story. They exist in the same place at different points in times. It simply depends on when you look at it. As we finite humans move through the infinite, we can focus on different parts inside the perfect picture, one scene after another, and that makes it appears to be moving. But in reality, the story is already written. All we're doing is changing focus and looking at different parts of the story. Our perception is a like brushstroke in comparison to the infinite universe. A brushstroke is essential to a painting's perfection, but the stroke itself will never see the completed picture because it's stuck inside the painting at a fixed point in time. That is our relationship with God. We are a tiny part of the infinite universe. We can't comprehend God all at once, but we help make the universe perfect by simply existing.

Our lack of Perspective

From our finite perspective, the universe doesn't look complete even though it is. It is revealed to us little by little, by changing our focus. Thus the future already exists and we're slowly discovering the story. You might assume this theory eliminates free will. Not at all. In a universe of infinite realities, you have infinite choices. The optimal existence, the path integral, is an infinite number of paths that add up to a single existence. Infinity creates free will by giving us infinite choices as we move forward through our reality. Reality doesn't change, but we still get to choose how we move through it, weaving our own path through the garden of the universe. So be sure to choose a good path. As mentioned earlier, God can be described as the infinite universe. To a scientist, God is a limitless matrix of atoms across infinite dimensions. Whichever way you describe it, life and reality are extraordinary.

What is Human Consciousness Exactly?

We are perceiving the infinite universe little by little. What's the point of that? Who benefits? If you were paying attention to the above explanation, you should have realized that we are tiny parts of God. My theory is our consciousness is the result of the infinite universe (God) looking in on itself. Through our finite perception, the Infinite can see and feel the stories happening inside of it. It's like a finished painting watching itself being created from the tip of a paintbrush. It's mapping its inner parts. We are the motion inside the perfect picture. We see how it was created, and in doing so, it feels like a new reality to us. Anything you can imagine really exists somewhere in the cosmos. That's horrifying and intriguing. Thankfully, we don't have to directly perceive every reality, but some individuals move toward horrible things and bring great atrocities into our reality. Those kinds of people are known as maggots. They delight in corruption and sometimes drag good people down with them. Call maggots out for their exploitation and don't let them gain power over good things.

Human Brains are a Conduit for Energy

Our brains perceive parts of reality and can call on different realities with our imagination and memories. Did you know your memories are real somewhere? You lived through it, remember? You saw an elephant at the zoo, but that elephant doesn't live in your brain. You're brain is simply retrieving the image from a different point in time. Your consciousness makes connections through the fabric of reality and can find its way back to those points in a diminished capacity. What you are currently perceiving is your sharpest focus. A memory is less focused. It's an echo of your perception. Your imagination, on the other hand, is a less-focused perception of many realities, and to learn is to know reality a little better every day. Never stop learning.
